Baker's Cyst: A Baker's cyst is a fluid-filled cyst that causes a bulge and a feeling of tightness behind your knee.  A Baker's cyst can often rupture (burst), resulting in fluid leaking down into your calf. This causes a sharp pain in your calf which becomes red, swollen and tight. The fluid will gradually be reabsorbed into the body within a few weeks.

i had an u/s on 3/20, and the dr mentioned that there was a ruptured cyst indicating ovulation had prob occurred. is there any way to determine when that may have happened (1 day prior? 5?)

No: There is not a way to determine when that occurred. I am wondering why you would need to know that. Perhaps you are concerned about pregnancy risk if you had sex around the time of ovulation? If intercourse was within 3 days use plan b. If within 5 days use Ella (ulipristal acetate) if you are trying to avoid pregnancy.

Bartholin's cysts: A ruptured Bartholin's cyst if infected will generally still require a minor surgical and perhaps antibiotics, so see your gyn provider for an exam and appropriate treatment.

I assume you are: Talking about ovarian cyst.  Sometimes bleeding from ovarian cyst rupture could be uncontrolled and lead to intra abdominal hemorrhage.  If this is severe, you can in turn die from the hemorrhage, but this is rare.
