ive experienced some severe pain at times but now i have quite a bit of blood in my stool .... is this expected to happen

Not likely: There would not be any direct connection traditionally between passing a kidney stone and blood in stool.  It's hard to distinguish what it might be in this venue.  It's important whether it's bright red or dark/tarry.  Regardless, it is worth getting seen by your primary physician as soon as you can.  If the amount of blood increases or your feel dizzy/light-headed, go the to the ER.

can "stool balls" look like a kidney stone in a x-ray?

Yes: Especially if there is calcification in the stool ball. It will appear bright white on Xray, just like a kidney stone. Hope this helps!

hi im concerned for my health. i believe i may have a kidney stone. the pain comes and goes, sometime a day or two in between episodes. my stool is also dark brown/black ish, but i took pepto yesterday. could that be the cause? please help

Peptobismol: Yes, peptobismol can make your stool black. When a kidney stone moves in the ureter the pain is excruciating. Your physician can order a kidney ultrasound to see if there is a stone. Either way recurrent pain warrants an investigation.

See DR: The blood in stool is not related to his kidney stones.

Blood in the stool always needs to have an evaluation.
If the amt of blood has not changed, then go to DR's office   If it is worse then go to the ER

No, but...: Kidney stones are not directly connected with loose stools, but the drugs used for stone-related issues such as antibiotics, pain medication, or alpha-blockers, e.g., tamsulosin, may indirectly induce loose stools. So, trace down the onset of loose stools in association with the timing of starting medications, and bring those to Doc for review, analysis, more Hx, physicals, and possible tests...

No.: Blood in the urine is common with kidney stones, but since urine and stool don't mix in the body, kidney stones should not produce blood in the stool.

i passed a kidney stone one week ago and psin meds constipated me. now i have flat to penicil thin stool and excess mucus.  what can cause this?

Constipation: This may very well be related to your bowel recovering from a bout of drug(likely opioid) induced constipation. Sometimes, when motility is acute affected it can take time for things to normalize.  You may want sure your fiber intake is good, along with you staying hydrated, and active(activity helps constipation).  If things fail to resolve in the next several days to week seek in person help.

Wonder about food: It is sure not related to kidneys. Partially digested material? Go over everything you eat, you probably will find a reason for stool stones.

i have lower back and left side pain and there was blood in my stool yesterday. ive had issues with kidney stones in the past. what is happening?

See your doc: Kidney stones would not cause blood in stool.Are you taking NSAIDs such as ibuprofen/Naprosyn or asprin.Ifso stop as that can cause it.Left lower back pain could be UTI but that would not cause the blood in stool.Could be diverticulitis which would.Hemrrhoids would but should not cause the pain described.Blood in stool is not good so see someone soon.
