Yes: It is better to continue but if you see allergic adverse effects you should stop it.

Why you taking the: Z-pack? Was it prescribed by a doctor? The flu is a virus. A z-pack is an antibiotic and is only helpful for a bacterial infection. It will not help a virus, but it can give you diarrhea. If it was prescribed by a doctor talk to them before deciding if you should stop the z-pack. If it was not prescribed by a doctor then stop the z-pack and don't self medicate with antibiotics in the future.

Yes: alternative: A better alternative would be forcing 2 type of fluids: electrolyte rich ( powerade, gatorade, vitamin water) and protein rich fluids ( broth, boullion, consume') along with Imodium (loperamide) ad as directed. Pepto bismol is bismuth which cannot hurt you- but can make your tongue turn black.

Should be OK.: Truth be told, even when TamiFlu is administered early enough, it only really shortens the duration of your illness by a half a day or so.  Stopping it early if you’re feeling better should be fine.  Even if you weren’t given TamiFlu, this flu would have resolved on its own and not recurred, so stopping TamiFlu early if you’re not tolerating it should have no ill consequence.

i am a female doc having a one year old kid. i have to take care of swine flu positive cases. whats the risk to my baby. should i give tamiflu (oseltamivir) to him.

Get a flu shot: Your child should be immunized against the flu. If you child is one year old she should have two flu shots given one month apart. Barring that you should wash your hands with soap and water before handling your child. Recent recommendations have lowered the age for giving tamiflu, (oseltamivir) so it's an open question if you want to give it prophylactic ally.

Recommendation : Some people can not tolerate Tamiflu. You are one of them. Please, never try it again. Any flu required a lot of fluids, and many  OTC medication can be helpful. I always tell my patient about this terrible side effect of Tamiflu when prescribing this medicine.

Considered dangerous: Approved for use in children >1y, delirium & self injury have been reported as side effects in children. Concern for possible fatalities due to excessive central nervous system penetration in lab studies limit early use. The practice of cocooning, having everyone in a newborns circle vaccinated for flu is the common recommendation for preventive care. Hospital care of infant cases is standard.
