Baking soda: Baking soda has bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) which neutralizes acid. Avoiding acidic drinks like coffee and soda can make it go away also.

30 y old.i ate a lot of fried food 2 days ago and i have gerd since yesterday.do i need to take medicine?or i can eat or drink something to remove it?

Obviously fried : food contributes to the reflux.  Can take some otc Prilosec or even pepto to help with symptoms.  But dietary changes will help the most

i feel solid food going down my esophagus & feels slow moving after swallowing. trying soft food diet & can feel mashed potatoes going down. drinking helps. dx gerd in '03. tried and failed many ppis. currently dexilant 60mg qd at pm. stricture?

: Not likely stricture at your age.    I would elevate head of bed 8 inches by getting blocks from Bed Bath and Beyond. Gravity never sleeps and this may help with reflux at night. Put under legs of head of bed.

Possibly: Gerd (reflux of stomach acid) can cause heartburn, nausea...

Maybe: Although standing should make it better. Be checked to see if you have motility problems with esophagus or a hernia above your diaphragm that may be responsible for your symptoms. In the meantime use a medication to protect your esophagus. All the best.

i'v lost 15lbs(218->203) since april end. only changed my diet to more homemade food. low sugar &oil/fat, good curb, fiber & protein, no greasy/spicy food or drink outside. no major fatigue. hb-14. have gerd. bowl regular. is this wt loss concerning?

YES: GERD is by definition Stomach and Easophageal Junction Laxity( valve is not closing properly ) and Stomach acid regurgitate into esophagus and one taste Bitter /sour in mouth. Depends on Severity.More common in supine position; so elevate the head end , do not eat 3 hours before going to bed. Try OTC meds for 4 weeks and then see your doctor if continues.

: Yes if you have develped severe esophageal stenosis. Would be unusual at your age.

Acid reflux: One potential cause is acid reflux which may be due to gerd but you should be seen by a GI doctor and have this checked. You may have helicobacter infection. The other consideration is that you are allergic to something in the food you are eating and that could be a life-threatening situation if not discovered soon. You really should see a doctor and be evaluated. Good luck.

is this a common gerd symptom to feel like something is stuck in your throat? sometimes when i eat food, even when i chew well, it will feel stuck in the middle of my throat, even though i can eat, drink and talk just fine?

: It could be GERD or a non-critical narrowing of your esophagus like an esophageal ring.  If it continues you should see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.
