Two questions: 1) no hashimoto's thyroiditis is a auto- immune disease which does not cause immune suppression.
2) chronic use of steroids ( prednisone) can cause immune-suppression and can modify response to PPD ( TB test).

: This is one acceptable technique of tapering prednisone.  Slower tapers are more prolonged.  I would consider these doses to be moderate and the course of treatment to be short term.

: Short term steroid use is rarely followed by tapering. Tapering is used when suppression of the bodies' natural steroid production is shut down by long term use of the medication (weeks/months). That does not happen with a weeklong course.

Adrenal insuff: Hi, how long have you been on Prednisone? What is the average dose you were taking in last year? You might have a condition called 2/2 Adrenal insufficiency due to suppression of Adrenal glad due to chronic use of Prednison. you might need slower and longer tapering. Talk to an Endocrine doctor. ck enzimes have been running high for the past 6 years at least. range : 600 - 1935 u/l.  low dose prednisone helps :5mg. what is the cause of this ?

Several possibles: There are many issues that can cause elevation of muscle enzymes. The major ones are meds (most commonly statins) and diseases that can cause muscle inflammation of damage. I would urge a rheumatology consultation.
