hi doctors! if getting a reaction/becoming mildly ill to a vaccine is good and shows that your immune system is reacting, then isn't it bad or not as good if your immune system does not react and you do not become ill and develop symptoms?

: It is ok either way. Mild illness is an outward manifestation that your immune system is reacting to  vaccine.  However, even if not apparent - doesn't mean your body isn't reacting.  Wouldn't fret. I had mild reaction after first Moderna vaccine dose and none after second.

NO: It will not cause more trouble and will protect you from pneumonia.  From a review in the Lancet comes the following statement:"As a general rule, patients with an autoimmune disease are not at risk of exacerbation after administration of any of the available vaccines. May be a strong immu: Can't say - you may have a child with a strong immune system. You can have  your pediatrician have  the child seen  by an infectious disease pediatric  specialist.

Hypothetical: Different people have different immune responses and immune response is under genetic control. Most people would have an adequate immune response under the circumstance you described. It also depends on the nature of the antigen. An antigen may be hidden inside cells and not accessible to antibody. If you could be more specific it may be helpful.

COVID 19 vaccine:  In general, if one has a weak immune system it would probably be safer to take the vaccine &amp; to be protected. Any contraindications  (reasons you should not be vaccinated)  will be published by the drug companies.

Only the flu: Vaccines are specific to those viruses they are meant for. To my knowledge there is no cross immunity between the flu shot and the covid virus

: It is imperative that you get vaccinated for pneumococcal infection. Your doctor can arrange the vaccination. Long Covid is not predictable.

Urban myth: First, no "weak" strains of the COVID-19 virus have been identified. Second, there is no known "strong immune system" that is more effective in fighting coronavirus. The notion that some people have "strong" and others "weak" immune systems is an urban myth. This happens with chemotherapy, cancer, and similar situations. But not naturally in normal, healthy persons.

will pneumonia vaccine be helpful for me and my immune system now- after recovering from meningitis 6 mos ago? never had this vaccine before

Maybe: There are 2 pneumococcal vaccines.One has been around for several decades and one developed within the past decade.Both help your body develop immunity to some of the common pneumoccal germs that can cause invasive disease like pneumonia and meningitis.It is an immune booster of sorts and helps defend you against specific germs. I got one.
