is it possible to pass sac-like objects on a stool that look like tapeworm eggs (golden, firm, etc.) but are not? if so, what are the possibilities?

Tapeworm unlikely: I'm pretty sure you're the same person who has asked several questions about tapeworm, cats, and things you have seen in your stool or your cat's feces. In the US, human tapeworm infestation is rare, and cat tapeworm is espcially unlikley to infect humans. But see your doctor if you remain concerned. A simple stool "ova and parasites" test will tell for sure whether or not you have it.

i had pinworms as they were in my stool so i took medicine but i noticed there are what look like tapeworm eggs instead. were they pinworms or not?

MIXTURES: or MULTIPLE parasitic infections are NOT that uncommon!! You need a stool exam for OVA (eggs) and the parasites themselves...then proper TREATMENT (Often a sinfle treatment with a "Broad spectrum" anti-helminth (anti-worm)    will "do the trick"

Tape worm in stool: Tapeworms are flat, segmented and described as  "ribbon-like". You could pass a worm or worm segments.

Yes and no: It is possible that you would see worms. But if you don't it doesn't mean you do not have them. Your MD can do a simple stool test to look for parasites or their eggs.

Stool Color: Stool color is not important unless there is no color at all or it is bloody.  Melena which is black sticky foul smelly stool signifies blood as well and is important. Otherwise green, brown, orange or shades thereof don't mean anything.

Worm? - don't know: I don't know if it is a worm. It could be fiber. The next time you pass a possible worm or segment of a worm, bring it is as a stool specimen (don’t handle it directly with your hands) to your doctor. The type of worm can be identified in a laboratory. If you doctor is not knowledgeable about worms, she  or he could ask you to see an infectious disease specialty.

See Doctor: You might want to bring stool sample into your dr to check for parasites to be sure but it may be possibly nothing. Tapeworm segments usually are not hard but firmer perhaps and are greyish / white.

No: Presence of tapeworm parts or ova confirms its presence in the intestines.

Tapeworms: Depending upon which tapeworm you may or may not see segments, and when you do they should be obvious. These are so uncommon in the USA that you really need some exposure risk to be concerned about this. If you see one, take it with a stool specimen to your doctor so that it can be examined in the laboratory. It is important to know which tapeworm because some have risks outside of the intestine.

if you haven't had any signs of a tapeworm since 'segments' in stool (untreated) at 12, could it have been inside all this time although no signs?

Tapeworm: Yes definitely. Tapeworms infection must be treated for a cure. Just because you do not see segments does not mean its gone. Have the stools sent for analysis and get some medication for it.
