A "complex" TEAR: of the posterior horn (the meniscus is a piece of cartilage the medial, and lateral are of each side of your knee INTERNALLY.. You have what sounds like SURGICAL situation (an endoscope is used to eliminate the tear)...Until then walk as tolerated but use care on stairs since "locking" may occur.....SEE A BOARD CERTIFIED ORTHOPEDIST as soon as practicable...Hope this is helpful!

Usually means that-: -tear is not a simple tear, but multi faceted. Mor than one tear but many tears in the posterior horn. Multi layered &amp; not one that can not be repaired, but will only be able to be removed. Most commonly seen in older individuals. See in vocations that requires lots of squatting or in sports multiple injuries or catchers that sguat &amp; twist in the squatted position.

Symptoms &amp; exam : MRI images are extremely detailed &amp; may give more information than needed &amp; show changes that are not significant (for example, people with NO back pain sometimes show ruptured disc in MRI)  we physicians listen to a patient’s history/symptoms &amp; evaluate primarily based on those, with imaging to supplement. I’d need to know what your symptoms are in order to tell if those MRI changes mean anything
