Different.: Auto erotic asphyxiation uses methods other than holding breath, like bags, self strangulation, chemicals etc.  this is life-threatening and very dangerous.  Holding breath will cause you to faint if you don't breathe out the carbon dioxide.  Not recommended since one thing might lead to one of the above to achieve better results.  Psychiatrists might help with this condition.

Pituitary : If your pituitary deficiencies were the result of something that happend during birth i think it would be unlike you would develop more deficiencies at your age unless you had brain surgery near the pituitary or had significant head trauma in the future.

Dysthymia: And if it's really grim, depression. Before your self-diagnose mental illness, there are some entities to rule out, including medication effect, hypothyroidism, and porphyria.

More info needed: That is a very general question. It depends on many factors, including the age and overall health of the patient, the nature of the symptoms, medications being taken, and many others.
