It Alters Metabolism: In wilsons disease, genetic information to make a special  protein is missing. That protein is supposed to carry excess copper like a taxicab.It takes it to the kidneys to be eliminated. Without this carrier protein, copper builds up in toxic amounts in tissue & starts to kill cells by messing up their metabolism. We are exposed to copper in our diet & in low levels it won't hurt you, high levels do.

Abnormal liver tests: The SGOT and SGPT (now called ast and alt) are a bit elevated. These reflect your husband's liver function. I generally repeat the tests in a month, & ask patients to stop alcohol and Acetaminophen (tylenol) also. If the repeat test is still elevated, i  usually test for hepatitis b & c. There are many medical conditions that can elevate liver enzymes - even weight; we search til we find a reason.

Maybe, kidney diseas: In prior answers, explained bun, creatinine, normal ratio, and high ratio. Low ratio means that the BUN is likely low or normal with relation to the creatinine, indicating that there is adequate blood or volume flowing to the kidneys, but the kidneys are impaired or disease in some way. Need a nephrologist - kidney specialist.

Decrease in flow.: Bun=blood urea nitrogen, byproduct of proteins ingested, if rise to high levels due to kidney problem, can cause toxic affects on the body.
Creatinine= measurement of renal function. Normal bun/cr ratio about 10. The higher that ratio, the more likely it is not intrinsic kidney disease per se, but reduction in blood flow or volume to kidney, like when on strong diuretic-prerenal-reversible.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Need evidence : In order to know if you are resistant to insulin, they need to do a test for it called insulin sensitivity test, that allows to calculate something called HOMA index, with this result we can know for sure that you have insulin resistance, also there are many causes that difficult weight loss, like alterations on ovary or thyroid gland, but they are accompanied by other symptoms.
