Dental Pain: Dental pain can be caused by a number of things. Since you are currently being treated orthodontically, it would be wise for your orthodontist to check your bite, the brackets, and the wires to make sure everything is fine. You just may be sore from the actual procedure.

Ask the Surgeon: "Compromised" can refer to one or more of a number of aberrations, not all of which require  treatment.  Ask the Surgeon to point out to you exactly what he/she is seeing on the images obtained.

By : By the date of this post, almost a week has passed. If you have not seen a doctor already it is wise to do so. The symptoms you described can indicate angina, or myocardial infarction (mi, also known as heart attack). Also, your symptoms could have merely been due to an adverse effect of taking four 5 hour energy drinks. This high amount of caffeine can often mimic the signs of a mi. I recommend you cut down on these drinks so as to avoid any unwanted side effects.
Regardless you will need a work up, which will include an ekg (test that checks the electrical activity of your heart), this test can give an indication if there is concern for an mi or risk of one. 
After a detailed history, exam, and testing, your doctor will be able to give you a likely diagnosis and treatment plan.

Many things: Heart attack, impacted wisdom tooth, TMJ dysfunction, ear infection, muscle spasm, deep cavity in a tooth or into the nerve, poor sleeping position, your a boxer, etc.

Should not!: The worst thing you could do is get tracked into surgery. Mechanical issues shiiould be addressed. The most common forms of arthitis that affect the TMJ are spondyloarthopathies, may commonly  psoriatic arthritis. Try nsaids and have the TMJ injected.

Not Ice but heat: Jaw joint pain may be related to either true inflammation of the jaw joint or more commonly muscle spasm of the jaw muscles. I would recommend heat (heating pad) and an analgesic such as asa, Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen). Seeing your dentist or oral surgeon for a definitive diagnosis is paramount.

Please elaborate: Is the pain in the joint (TMJ) or in the actual body of the jaw? Many conditions can cause this problem, including grinding your teeth, clenching, an abscess, an impacted tooth, etc. Can't diagnose correctly over the internet... You need to make an appointment with a local dentist.
