day 6 on bactrim antibiotics for cellulitis on my tush. is it normal for skin to peel and bleed?  does this  mean it's healing ?

Cellulitis: It is normal for the skin to peel with cellulitis. Please send photo to be sure it is not worsening with the bleeding part. Did you mark the area with a black marker to see if injection is extending borders? Send photo asap to help be sure it is not worsening. Do you have any fevers.

Epidermis: Your skin is composed of multiple layers of cells, the top of which is labeled the epidermis. These cells  originate at the base layer or dermis, and are pushed upward over time. Like a brick  wall pushing the bricks eventually to the top. The top cells loose their connection to each other and flake off. The burn just accelerated the loss. The skin will eventually repair itself.

Localized infection?: You might have a localized infection like an abscess (infected cyst). Apply some warm compresses to it and go see your doctor right away. If there's an abscess you would need incision and drainage and oral antibiotics usually won't work.

Burns: Clean with water at normal temperature. Apply silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) cream gently on the burn areas twice daily. Take Ibuprofen for pain. See the dermatologist because it is on your face,  even small burn.

No: Most newborns' skin is dry and flakes for approximately 4 weeks. Lotion is not necessary, and in some cases may actually irritate the skin. If your baby's skin continues to be dry after that time, he/she needs to be examined to determine if they have eczema or another skin condition.
