Many causes, ?nerve : There are many causes of these symptoms, most of which are harmless but irritating.  One possibility is a phenomenon called occipital neuralgia, where the occipital nerve that wraps around the back of the skull to the scalp gets irritated.  This can be treated by a neurologist if the symptoms are intrusive enough.

Sensitivity, anxiety: Sensation in the scalp is mediated by the trigeminal system, which can cause tingling in the head, even soreness when combing your hair. What activates the trigeminal system? Stress, tension or migraine headaches, gum or tooth disease or recent dental, or a tight headband. The trigeminal system gets stirred up easily by these and other things, but usually comes down in days to weeks.

Usually tension: Regional dysesthesias in that area are almost always due to tension.  Look inside yourself and learn why you are tense and why you resort to alcohol.
