Rapid heart rate: Rapid resting heart rate (over 90) is seen with fever, anxiety, overactive thyroid, caffeine,alcohol,nicotine use, certain medications like Sudafed or stimulants. The average athlete's resting heart rate is in the 50-60 range. A cardiac evaluation as well as thyroid,blood pressure levels, EKG, echocardiogram, outpatient heart monitor test,treadmill stress test may be scheduled.

Depends on details: A normal healthy person can have a heart rate of 57, a body temperature in the 97's, and a blood pressure that's mildly lower than his peers. Such numbers alone have little meaning but do help his primary care doctor in assessing the whole picture of his health. Numbers by themselves are just numbers, with little known significance if not viewed together with one's entire history.

? POTS: Although there is very little other information, you could possibly have paroxysmal orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. The increase in heart rate would in particular occur upon standing. This can be accompanied by associated decrease in blood pressure - with lightheadedness, fatigue, excessive thirst. If chronic, can prompt cold extremities, shortness of breath, headache, restless sleep, GI symptom.

Tachycardia: Newly evident rapid heart rates need evaluation to exclude organic pathology which can be myriad eg thyrotoxicosis, anemia, infections, pulmonary disorder, cardiac disorder et cetera.  In the absence of organic underlying pathology it frequently is a reflection of cardiopulmonary deconditioning. Resting Heart Rate: A resting heart rate of 115 is considered abnormal.  Concern is what is causing it.  Would not let it go, have it checked, especially if any sob, chest pain, anxiety, nausea, etc.
