can complex regional pain syndrome spread? my partner has complex regional pain syndrome in his hand and experiences burning pains shooting up his arm. he now suffers with his back and shoulders, however. does this mean that complex regional pain syndrome

Unfortunately : Unfortunately we just don't understand how crps works or how to treat it well.  Some people have spreading symptoms, though not too commonly.  I would certainly want to make sure the diagnosis was made by a reliable physician, to assure nothing else could be going on.

Burning sensation: there are many causes, most common is diabetes. THis may be early neuropathy

: It means movements that are unvoluntary or spontaneous are controlled in a manner that is acceptable. Any abnormal movement you are getting from the SFN, tremor or twitches are controlled to an acceptable level.

Numbness ; tingling: There are variety possible causes for this condition including musculus-skeletal disorders of the cervical area, multiple sclerosis or carpal tunnel syndrome, just to name a few. The treatment will depend on your diagnosis. Without the diagnosis is a guessing game.

Armpit pain: Could be several things.  Skin irritation from anti-perspirants or infection, pain from enlarged nodes or other.  Try stopping underarm deoderants and check for rash.  If it continues call your doctor for an examination to determine the cause.

Both!: There is no spinal or peripheral nerve that innervates that area!  could also be cryptic psoriasis, irritation from underarm agent or low grade fungal infection.  If it persists, see your doctor.  You did not describe if it looked different.  Oh yes, could be referred pain from your shoulder. But it would be shoulder movement related, not constant!

Nerve pain?: Strange pains or odd sensations can be due to nerves being irritated. Symptoms vary a lot from person to person, so a primary care doctor can evaluate to see what is going on. Thigh pains can be from the thigh itself, or can come from inside the hip or the nerves coming out of the spine. Armpit pains sometimes are from skin rashes or skin irritations there.

i have a burning kind of sensation like a scratchy feeling close to my right armpit at the outer part where the arm folds. on touch a little sore! ?

Eczema or intertrigo: If there is any redness or rash in the area, it may represent eczema or intertrigo.  See a dermatologist for prescription treatment. Use dove sensitive skin or tom's of maine antiperspirant to minimize irritation in the future. Use unscented soaps, moisturizers and laundry detergents as well.

i have a "burning pain" on the left side of my body just under my armpit, if i look at the muscle chart it could be the latissimus dorsi. it is not a constant pain but it comes and goes. there is also no "specific" movement that makes it worse?
