Urgent evaluation: Blue lips may be due to low oxygen saturation of hemoglobin (blood) and may be a sign of central nervous system, cardiac, pulmonary or blood disorder. This should urgently be evaluated by your pediatrician.

The lips are a: "red herring" i would say.   Ibuprofin not good if having stomach pain, meet to try something for stomach acid like tagament or zantac.  I assume you have regular headaches, thus ibuprofin, on sertraline but still not sleeping well? You may be clinching teeth at night making headaches worse, if so low dose Clonazepam may help.  Try tylenol, (acetaminophen) get on acid reducer, Prilosec otc if can afford. Gd luc.

Hemosiderin: The purple blue color is due the deposition of iron released by the red cells in the hematoloma. You do not have a hematoma, just the residual iron released by the red cells. Depends on condition: Skin color in infants reflects circulation, oxygenation and hemoglobin saturation. Color is best observed when an infant is quiet. Red lobster like skin is a sign of plethora-due to high hematocrit concentration (high red blood cells vs volume of blood) and blood flow. Purple lips can be a sign of cyanosis-low oxygen saturation in the blood stream if your baby is in any distress/ill appearing.

Did : Did you suffer any trauma to your lip? If so you likely have a hematoma (collection of blood) under the lip. This will take time to dissipate. You can try cool compresses/ice to your lip a few times a day and try an anti-inflammatory medication like advil (ibuprofen) to reduce the pain and inflammation. If you do not notice an improvement over the next several days see your doctor.

Many possibilities: A purple color can be from trauma (ie a bruise).  It can be a hematoma (a collection of clotted blood under the skin) or be related to a skin condition such as melanoma.  Fortunately melanoma in this area is quite rare.    There are other causes but you would need to get an exam to know what it is for sure.  See a doc if it isn't going away on its own.  Best wishes!

Cheek bite for one: One cause can be a cheek bite that caused bleeding below the tissue, but not enough of a bite to cause a laceration or tear so that the blood leaked out into your mouth.  Another reason could be a blue nevus.  You should see a dentist to have the spots evaluated and then see if any treatment is needed.
