is it possible to have a baby after having a tubal and phelopean tube removal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: However, you will have to go through ivf.  Without fallopian tubes, there is no way for egg and sperm to meet other than artificially, outside the body.  Once fertilized outside the body, the embryo can be placed into the uterus for maturation.  Needless to say, you will need a specialist for this.

Normal couples: May take up to one year or more to conceive, so you may not have problems at all. Other possible problems would generally be ovulatory, male (sperm, ) or conditions such as endometriosis.

Only one test: Aside from becoming pregnant to say the tubes have healed themselves, there is only one test available that you could have done to document your tubes are either closed or open.    It's called a hysterosalpingogram - dye is injected through the uterus and watched under fluoroscopy to see if it fills and spills through the fallopian tubes.

Sterilization: Getting your tubes tied is the common way if saying permanent contraception. There are a number if different ways to permanently prevent pregnancy, and they all involve minor surgery. If this is something you are interested in, you should discuss this with a doctor.

If u had an ablation: The odds are very high that u will have a misc, unless u have a lot of normal endometrial tissue left where the fetus can implant, but if u had a good ablation there should not be hardly any or no endometrial tissue left  please discuss withe the doc who did both of your surgeries and u will know in 3 days and i assume they also drew a Progesterone level, because a low one usually means non viable.

Difficult to say: It truly depends on the final length of the anastomosis. It needs to be at least 3 cm to have some possible successful function for pregnancy.

Infertility consult: If you are truly 40 years old you may not be able to get pregnant with your own eggs.  An infertility specialist can do the proper bloodwork and counselling to see if you are better off with surgical reversal of the tubal ligation versus in vitro fertilization witheither your own or a donor's eggs.

Tubal ligation: Tubal ligation is one of the most effective methods of birth control. In general, about 95 out of every 100 women who get their tubes tied will never become pregnant.
But in some cases the tube(s) may grow back together, making pregnancy possible. The risk of pregnancy is higher in women who have a tubal ligation at a young age.
There are imaging techniques to assess the fallopian tubes.
