Depends: What if ant tests are ordered in an emergency room setting depends on the problem at hand. There are some rather standard tests of fluid/electrolyte/sugar levels and blood count, but these &amp; any others would depend  on the issue. Some show up in an ER for a rash for a month &amp; these would likely be sent home with none.

: I imagine the medication prescribed was to help control your blood pressure. I assume you have a diagnosis of hypertension by now. You should also look at dietary changes.  If your blood pressure does not improve on medication, tests for kidney function and aldosterone/renin ratio may be useful.

No: The emergency room is only for emergencies. Exposure to mold is not an emergency and one should NOT go to the emergency room nor an urgent care center for that. Exposure to mold is a situation for one's primary care doctor. One's regular, primary care doctor can take care of it, or refer to an allergist.

Very reliable at 21d: Urine pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A urine test gives a very accurate result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have been). If done sooner such as less than 2 weeks after sex, a positive result is likely real, but negative result may be due to testing too soon.

if a 40 year old woman with several risk factors goes to the emergency room for a suspected heart attack, will she automatically be admitted to the hospital for observation regardless of what the initial tests indicate?

: She will not automatically be admitted but if the initial work-up is negative for a cardiac event and she is discharged, she should follow up with a cardiologist because she should be closely monitored and likely have additional tests. She may need a stress test, for example, and that may not be done in the initial ER work-up. Good luck!

Family  Doctor: I appreciate that you got specialty care, but i doubt that they discharged you without recommending a follow up visit with your family doctor this week. Your family physician will go over all of the records and determine what you need or do not need as you continue to live your life.  Your chest discomfort episode is not complete until the family doctor and you have a plan for living.

Little or no risk: Most likely it was water or maybe IV fluid. Even if it was someone's body fluid (urine?), there would be no signficant risk. Obviously this would be unpleasant, but there is rarely any health risk from body fluids on skin, even in seating area (buttocks, genital area, etc). I really wouldn't worry about it.
