It depends: Sciatica without numbness, weakness, or bowel or bladder symptoms is often treated with anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen. It is best to avoid activities which can irritate the back like bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting. Walking is usually ok if it doesn't make the pain worse. If the pain is severe, or persists for several weeks, or has other symptoms, it should be evaluated.

Sciatic nerve: The sciatic nerve comes out of an area of the pelvic floor muscles.  If you are contracting these muscles or if they are inflamed / irritated the sciatic nerve can be irritated.  Stretching and chiropractic would be helpful.  Also, there are Physical Therapists specifically trained to improve pelvic floor tone.

Yes and no: There is a term radiculopathy that refers to pain in the leg from an irritation of a nerve in the back; you can get that condition and have pain in your inner thigh and leg.  A sciatica technically is a radiculopathy also, but those nerves (L4,5, and S1) supply a different part if the leg.  The inner thigh and leg are usually L1-4 nerve root levels.

: Could represent either sciatica or perhaps meralgia paresthetica (sensory nerve over thigh).  Put training on hold, see your doctor, and decide next approaches.

Check your spine..: At your age, I would be concerned about problems with your lumbar spine causing referred pain down your leg. It will be wise to consult a GP, for a proper neurological examination and then decide whether you need a MRI. Sometimes muscle spasms can contribute to pain - a physiotherapist may be of help in that scenario.

Yoga posture called "superman" evokes strengthening of this strap muscle mechanism & relatively stabilizes underlying sij. Physical therapy to learn.

Inclusive: Piriformis syndrome causes pain because of sciatic nerve impingement.  Both true sciatica - sciatic neuropathy, and piriformis syndrome - can be evaluated by physical exam, as well as by imaging and electrodiagnostic testing.  These disorders are uncommon, but must be differentiated from a plexopathy or radiculopathy.

Sometimes: If it is switching sides, more than one nerve is involved. Sometimes a very big central disc herniation can cause this. Consider getting an MRI if this is getting worse or not improving.

Pinched Nerve: Sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your back.  I would suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist to evaluate you further to evaluate what level and what can be done to treat you.  There are interventional treatments besides medications and surgeries that might reduce or  eliminate the pain altogether.
