Survival ?: Stage 4  colon Ca spread to liver and lungs have a poor prognosis unless the degree of liver involvement is  small and only a few lung lesions present. The lung lesions can be removed with a thorascope leaving only the liver as the site of spread.  Here microwave ablation, chemo embolization or radiolabelled microspheres can then be used.  There are several immunotherapy protocols available.

Fairly good treatmen: Cancer of the esophagus in a 70 year old should be treated with Chemotherapy. It can benefit about 50% of the treated folks. But the survival is short...most patients live 1 to 2 years with the treatment if it works well. Without treatment, the survival is no more than a few months (estimated at 4-6 months).

Tocotrienols and CA: Tocotrienols are vitamin-e related chemicals called tocopherols and, as such, are powerful antioxidants which are known to have a wide variety of salubrious effects on blood vessel and skin integrity, and have been shown in many studies to have some positive effects on some cancers, although i cannot find any literature related to colon cancer. Check with her md about taking these with her meds.

Metastatic colon CA: Typically,metastatic cancer (cancer that has spread to organs/areas beyond where it started) is considered incurable.There are some exceptions; if colon cancer has a single metastasis to the liver OR a lung, then chemotherapy &amp; surgical removal of the met might be successful (perhaps 50%).For more than one organ, chances are less, &amp; treatment frequently shifts towards comfort if chances poor/none.
