ive been working out for 2 weeks and for some reason my skin is turning yellow and im having shacks hands the whole time, what is the reason? should i be concerned about it?

: Those symptoms seem abnormal, especially the yellow skin and I do not think they have anything to do with your work-out. You should see a doctor if your family member or friend confirm the yellow skin, especially if yellow eyes are also present.

Yellow patch skin: I would ask someone who sees patients in South Africa as the causes may be a lot different than in US. You may be able to consult with a Dr on our site who trained in SA.

Yellow skin: Yellow stains in skin most likely could be due to something topically being applied or coming in contact with the skin, but can also be seen in people taking high quantities of beta carotene in supplements or foods.  Check your diet and consider what your hands come in contact with.

Skin: Flakey skin on the hands may represent hand eczema, fungus , dry skin, or psoriasis to name a few. If  frequent moisturizing is not helping , see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Go to er: Depending on how long you have had these symptoms, you may have a low potassium level.  That can cause cramps and  can be dangerous  for your heart.    Go in  for evaluation.

See below: We cannot make a diagnosis on this forum - heartburn, (and cough) could all come from GERD, - but I would urge you to see your doc asap- food sticking in your throat, and the fact that you noticed  skin is yellow - are not easily explained without an exam and perhaps tests - are the whites of your eyes also yellow - if so could indicate a problem with your liver - to be safe see your doc-good luck

Yellowing of the skin without abnormalities in liver tests i and not anemia s often from eating too many carrots. More information is needed to answer this question

Yellow nails: Sounds like fungus - but an exam is certainly warranted.

Good news: The good news is that nail changes from serious disease to not occur overnight.  Nails can be discolored by coming into contact with chemicals, dyes, spices, etc.  Have you been using your hands for any new projects lately?

Time for visit: It does sound infected and you can sometimes help it by using peroxide to clean the area along with warm soaks. If it has been there for a while and you have done this already, an office visit for additional evaluation and treatment would be worthwhile.Some of these need to be drained in the office.
