Multiple causes: Upper back & right sides chest may be the result of a thoracic disc herniation, thoracic facet syndrome, T4 syndrome, costoveterbral syndrome, muscle strain, ect. It may also represent referred pain from internal organs such as the heart & lungs, which are more serious. With your breathing difficulties you should contact  your  pcp for an immediate evaluation. If not available go to nearest er!

Nephrolithiasis: The kidneys are retroperitoneal and located in the area mentioned.  Have you done a urinalysis lately?

Not simple: Assuming no direct trauma to the bones or chest wall, can be arthritis, gall bladder disease, or even an odd chest tumor.

See a physician: This type of question really can't be well answered here because you need to be examined to determine exactly where these humps are.  It's possible that the humps are normal anatomic findings (i.e. The superomedial corner of the scapulae) and that the back pain is a coincidental occurrence.

Very common: Very common to have pain in that area, especially during the computer age.  Always ask for a chest x-ray just to be safe, but muscles and daily living are probably the issue.

An Ortho evaluation: When patients have persistent pain a good physical and exam can usually help figure out the causes which in this situation can include rotator cuff issues, neck pain, a pinched nerve or muscle spasm. An orthopedist or physical medicine and rehab can evaluate if a MRI is necessary and when to start therapy or other treatment. There are other non ortho causes of pain to consider like costochondritis.

Multiple causes: C6-7 disc herniations can cause "sharp subscapular pain" with numbness down the arm to the middle finger.
A more common cause of pain with breathing can also be pneumonia. 
Compression fractures of the thoracic spine can cause a combination of back pain with radiating pain upon deep breathing.
History is very important to help understand the condition a bit more.

If shingles is the cause, a rash appears after several days. If symptoms persist, consult your physician or a neurologist. Appropriate imaging studies,xray or mri, will be ordered.
