Hard to say: Unless you injured it, it would be unusual to have really bad back pain from the muscles in your back.  There are many potential causes some of which are musculoskeletal, but some which are not.  A kidney infection, known as a pyelonephritis is just one example.  Consider being checked. Mechanical: This is probably muscular. You need evaluation of musculoskeletal system. This will decide if it's muscle, bone , chest wall, lung, tendon, bursa, vertebral,etc.

You need a thorough Physical Examination, Chest X-Ray, Lab Work including a CBC and test for Mono, possibly a CT of your chest. I am concerned about the possibility of a Aortic problem which is a life-threatening emergency. Go to ER immediately.
