Accepted Answer

Nope: If you really have a catecholamine excess caused by a pheochromocytoma then you need medical treatment and surgery, not some herbal remedy.  Come on, it is the 21st century not the 18th.

Accepted Answer

Doubtful: Vitamin a is fat-soluble and the body has a high capacity for storage but only a limited capacity for excretion. The major route of excretion from the body is through bile into the intestine, where some may be reabsorbed and some is lost in the feces. Why would you want to speed up excretion?

Not necessarily : You may be athletic and your resting heart rate could be lower -- so how are you feeling when the heart rate is lower ?

Belief system: We do everything for infants when they cry.This sets up a belief system that we are their servant & only exist to please them.When they begin walking we begin to ignore them, since they can get around & play.They don't like it.Acting out is an amplification of crying behavior.They do it to get noticed & get their way.Parents may find it cute & send a smile their way while saying no-this confuses.

Requires expertise: Autism can present in many forms, and other disorders can have elements that can be mistaken for it.  Age also is important:   2 or 3 yo children present much differently than older ones or adolescents.  No behaviors associated with autism occur only with autism.  Experts look at the total picture, both how development is going and what impairments are present.  So, far no biological tests.

Most : Most commonly this type of behavior is not the manifestation of a seizure. Violent behavior can be seen during a complex partial seizure (focal seizure) when someone tries to restrain the person having a seizure. Post-seizure some people may also have abnormal behavior that sometimes can be violent. Many persons with epilepsy sometimes can have between seizures poor control of their emotions and some impulsivity. Psychiatrists will call this episodic dyscontrol syndrome. Some people will report lack of awareness for the episodes making the diagnosis very challenging. Video-eeg testing can confirm that the episodes are not associated with a seizure pattern on the brain waves.

i was given an overdose of magnesium during labor.could that cause behavioral problems with my child?

Effects are short : The effect of magnesium on a newborn are rather short lived. It does produce low muscle tone and can transiently cause breathing irregularities. I have seen some have brief periods of breathing cessation that required monitoring in the level 2 nursery. After the kid starts to urinate it leaves the system quickly & has no long term effect on growth or development.

I am not sure, but..: How do you define overdose of magnesium? It is not unusual to have high mag levels after appropriate repletion of mag deficiency, since it takes some time for magnesium to move from blood to its normal intracellular stores. Also, in pregnancy, toxemias are treated by aggressive mag infusions that are not considered overdose.
