Are there other: Symtoms? Is their pain? A stress fracture can cause unilateral swelling. Tendonitits can, as can any injury. Varicosities on one side. Gout, an infection. Arthritic changes can occur on one side.
A good history and physical with possible x-rays is a good idea.

: I assume there has been no trauma as the cause.  If you can pinpoint the throbbing pain &amp; swelling to a joint,especially the big toe, acute arthritis caused by gout would be most likely. Other possibilities could be a stress fracture, cellulitis ( a bacteria skin infection) or other inflammatory joint conditions. You should be examined by a physician for xray,accurate diagnosis &amp; proper treatment.

: You should see you family doctor or podiatrist. Having selling in one leg requires immediate evaluation. Cramps at night can be caused by many things. Circulation problem can be one cause of cramping. If any chest pain or trouble breathing go to emergency room

i hurt my knee bowling 3 months ago and it was feeling better until running hard on it during emergency now it hurts bad again with ankle and foot swelling. is that swelling normal in foot and knee from injured knee?

: If there's no pain in the foot or ankle, then that swelling is called dependent edema and represents fluid from your knee being pulled down by gravity. You need a thorough exam of that knee by an orthopedist and an MRI. Your primary care doctor or an urgent care doc can refer you to an orthopedist and may order the MRI first. Knees are complicated and knowing the exact injury is important.

broke 3rd metatarsal w/dislocation,2 weeks ago.doctor said recovery the same with or w/out surgery.allowing it to heal naturally. no pain, improvement in movement, haven't stood on the foot. swelling comes and goes, is this a problem?
