Shouldn't worry: If you are asymptomatic, there's no need for concern. Polyps can be followed, hemangiomas are benign. Unless the kidney stone becomes symptomatic, that too can befollowed.

i have chronic cholecystits according to a recent hida scan. will soon have my gallbladder removed. can my gbd be the cause of my kidney stones?

could a punctate nonobstruct lt renal 3mm stone cause referred pain to lower quad under the belly button, over multiple years? pain never really went away after passing multiple rt kidney stones. gallbladder out. pcp can't diagnose cause pain?

: A 3 mm stone only causes renal colic when it moves and it should pass out eventually within hours, and it is for sure not causing that chronic pain.

Not related: They are not really related metabolically or anatomically.  Gall bladder stones occur in part of the gastrointestinal tract and often contain high concentrations of bile and cholesterol.  Kidney stones occur in the urinary tract and often contain calcium and minerals excreted by the kidney.

Yes: Many pain medications can be used for kidney stone or gallstone pain, including vicodin.  Please see your doctor before taking any opioid.

Hard to say: Kidney stone are usually very painful. Stones, gallstones and kidneys infections can all cause this kind of pain. See your doctor and get checked out.

Pain: Flank pain one either side is the typical pain seen with a kidney stones. Gallbladder pain tends to be under the rib cage on the right upper abdomen

Sonogram or CT scan: Will confirm presence of kidney or gallstones. Sonography is probably better for identifying gall stones, is free of radiation ; is quite good at idtifying kidneys and presence or absence of urinary obstruction. Ct best for kidney stones. Blood cells in urine strongly suggest kidney stone, but imaging is required for diagnosis. Symptoms could also suggest kidney infection. ?Urine culture performed.
