can anyone tell me what causes cold sweats without fever?

Cold sweats: There is no way to tell without a thorough history and physical, but cold sweats can occur for a number of reasons.  Some include serious conditions such as physical trauma, shock, difficultly breathing, low blood sugar, and heart attack.  Others may be more benign.  Recommend seeing your doctor.

i have hypothroism, previously hyper. i've been extremely hot lately with no fever but hot and cold sweats? no other symptoms indicating thyroid.

Thyroid issues: When was the last time you had your thyroid labs checked?   Are you on thyroid medication currently?   It sounds like it could be too much thyroid.

for the past 1 1/2 weeks very night i run a fever when the fever breaks i have cold sweats for hours should i be worried. gb is fine no uti either?

Needs to be checked: You need to make an appointment with your family doctor,Night time fever followed by cold sweat can be due to Infections.There are non infectious causes as well likeconnective tissue disorders,thyrotoxicosis,and allergy.
If you have foreign travel in malaria zone,Malaria can cause night time fever
And Tuberculosis as well

is it normal for a 6 year old to sweat and cough, after being sick? my 6 year old was sick with bronchitis, bad fever cough, now that she is doing better, no fever, still coughing, and having cold sweats at night, is that normal should i worry?

Usually : Usually after a bout of pneumonia or bronchitis, the cough is the last symptom to disappear - occasionally taking weeks to resolve.  As long as her cough is continuing to improve, then it most likely is ok.  If her cough is worsening or if she is having any difficulty breathing, then you will want to contact her doctor right away.  The cold sweats may or may not be concerning - is she still having fever at night and the sweats are when it breaks?  If you are noticing a pattern to when she has these, you may want to take her temperature prior to the sweat to make sure she's still not having fever - that would be a reason to see her doctor right away.  As long as her fever is gone and her cough is improving, i'd say you were on the right track.  If you have any specific questions about her symptoms or treatment, give her doc a call.  Good luck!

feel like throwing up as soon as i get out of bed. hot and cold sweats. no fever yet. weakness. as long as i'm lying down, i feel ok. what is this?

Weakness: You have orthostatic hypotension  as a result of rising out of bed to rapidly. As a result your blood can't get to your brain fast enough  from a lying to a standing position. As a result you experience weakness and profuse sweating. On arising get up slowly.

my son has 5ths disease.he just broke out in rash.i've been sick for over 1 1/2.severe joint pain, cold sweats, fever, chills, could it be from that?

Fifth Disease: Unfortunately, all those symptoms can be attributed to fifth disease.  It is much milder in children than adults.  There is a blood test to check for this.  The treatment is symptomatic care - usually Motrin for joint pain and fever.  You should speak to your physician regarding possible other therapies for the joint pain.
