Yes blood work : Can determine for sure a random glucose might show it, a fasting glucose, a glucose tolerance test, or a hga1 c are blood tests used.

blood work & urine test  normal except glucose 158, a1c 7.4. heard nothing from my  dr.who is a nephologist, specials are high b/p & diabetes. scared?

Diabetes: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, a Hb A1c level of 7.4 is diabetes, unless proven otherwise. You should contact your doctor to ensure proper treatment.

i am 15 weeks pregnant and my doctor had me to take a diabetes test early. not sure why. could have there been signs in my blood work?

Early testing common: Most pregnant women are screened for gdm (gestational diabetes mellitus) at 28 weeks.  Those standards have however changed and screening is often done around 16 weeks in women who have had big babies on an earlier pregnancy or are themselves heavier.  Regardless, this change to earlier testing is the consequence of seeing more diabetes in more women generally - so too in pregnancy.

had a symptom for diabetes, doctor told me to get a random blood sugar test for glucose. my doctor told me my blood work was fine. are random blood sugar test accurate to diagnose diabetes?

Not ideal: There are multiple tests for diabetes but preferred are fasting glucose and hemoglobin A1c levels. Generally, these are tested on two separate occasions to confirm the diagnosis unless the numbers are way out of range. Non-fasting glucose with symptoms suggestive of diabetes can be reliable. 33+3 weeks pregnant. ruq pain below my ribs and around to back by ribs. had gallbladder removed 6 years ago. all metabolic blood work came back good along with bile acid test. bp has remained ok. no diabetes. what else could this be? baby?

: During the last trimester of pregnancy, the growing baby can put pressure on various areas and internal organs. Make sure you mention this to your OB Dr at your next visit, but most likely it will be due to baby positioning. Try laying on opposite side and massaging the area to encourage the baby to move.

88 y/o dad w/heart dis,diabetes,on many meds,has swollen lwr legs & feet, 6.6 potassium level in blood test,will furosemide work,how long for result ?

ER visit: 88 year old gentleman with multiple medical problems.
Call 911 have your father visit the ER because elevated potassium levels can affect his heart. The blood test may be hemolyzed (falsely elevated) but better safe than sorry with your father- get him evaluated immediately. Good luck.

NOT NECESSARILY: It depends upon why you are seeing the doctor and what issues the doctor is focusing on.  These tests must be ordered individually.  If you are concerned that you may have been exposed to an std go and ask to be tested.  Hope they are all negative.

High: It's high but out of context it has no meaning. It is not possible to say more without more info. Whoever ordered the test needs to talk to you and discuss its implications and what else needs to be done. Best to you.
