LactateDehydrogenase: Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme expressed in many body tissues including the liver, heart, kidneys, muscle, and several other tissues. Physicians use LDH as a biomarker to evaluate tissue damage but it is non-specific because it is expressed in so many different tissue types. I have attached a link to causes of elevated LDH.
