i had eswl treatment for 1.6cm stone on at the right renal pelvis/ upj. after surgery i have this problem on ultrasound 9 mm stone noted at the right upj . right ureteric stones measure up to 1.8,0.7and 0.8cm. i am so confuse with numbers of stons?

With your current your question, I assume the current ureteral stones were not diagnosed before the lithotripsy of 1.6 cm pelvic stone, is that correct? The 1.6 cm stone could not be broken up to 4 pieces of those sizes. Whatever, you will need more procedures for taking care the current stone in the right UPJ and right ureter. Good luck!

No scans: There are no radiological scans for nerve pain.

Toradol: If this is within two weeks, it could be postcardiotomy syndrome, which responds to Toradol or similar Non steroid anti inflammatories.  If beyond a few weeks, might be a lingering infection.  Please consult your surgeon.

Scars may soften: Wound healing is triggered by inflammation after trauma, infection, or surgery.  It takes 3 to 6 months for the inflammation to subside.  The collagen that resulted may take one to two years to soften and reorganize.  Massage, silicone sheeting, carboxytherapy, and other topical products (such as mederma, scarfade, newgel+, etc.) can help scars to mature.

What did surgeon say: This is going to be a problem for you if not addressed, as even simple things like inhaling, sitting, or anything requiring your ribs to expand or contract is destabilized from not having your sternum connected (fused) from the CABG surgery/stenting. Have you spoken to your surgeon? That is a good place to start, so you can discuss options. Hard to replace Mother's Nature's own design. Start there

graves disease, mixedema and exopthalmos , scheduled for compete thyroidectomy bc not responding to treatment. will these 2 resolve after surgery?

Exopthalmos maybe: Graves disease (hyperthyroidism) is much easier treated by radioactive ablation with i131 than surgery.Complications of surgery do not occur. The radioactive iodine destroys the gland making patient hypo or nothyroid. While exophthalmos generally improves with correction of hyperthyroidism, not always the case.Myxedema is not related to hyperthyroidism but is the same as  severe hypothyroidism.

appx what percentage develop a stricture after surgery 4 colon/bladder fistula & diverticulitis? is the balloon treatment (dillation?)very successful?

Not frequent: If stricture develops may be due to recurrences of disease, balloon dilation may help, will require resection for better out come.

is radiation therapy recommended after surgery?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes: Depending on the type of tumor, extent of disease involvement, surgical margins, etc.  Radiation can be used early as planned course or used later as salvage.
