Lesion in throat: With tonsilar cancer there is an ulcerating lesion that causes tenderness.  This is mostly true of the squamous Ca's.  With lymphoma of the tonsil the lesion grows and eventually spreads to the cervical nodes on the side of the lesion.  Sqamous lesions frequently have nodal spread also so that in all cases chemo/RT are employed

Consider biospy: At your age (26), this would most likely be an unusual presentation of Hodgkin's and the tonsil would feel different as well as just being big. It would also keep growing rapidly. I suspect the swab will come back normal flora and you may be offered a tonsillectomy if they're big enough to interfere with breathing while you sleep or are otherwise a problem.

The odor of our breath is a function of what’s in the saliva & bacteria living there.

Get second opinion: Ear ache is not always a sign of cancer. It can occur from many causes. If you want to be doubly sure, then seek a second medical opinion from an ENT doctor and see what he/she says about your tonsil. It is very easy to see a tonsiland be able to tell if it is normal or if it has any growth/tumor in it. If both doctors can confirm that you do not have cancer, then you can trust them and relax.

i'm 18 and have on both sides white patches on the side of my mouth and i'm worried about oral cancer or throat cancer no risk factors? and also have skin on the side of my mouth that looks like it's on my tonsil is that also a sign of cancer?

Please get checked: Your dentist needs to see this problem and advise you.  At eighteen, it is unlikely to be cancer.  You may be chewing your cheek of having a reaction to certain foods.  Go and get it looked at please!

Unlikely: Cancer is exceedingly unlikely,but an abscess within the tonsil might be, and could cause all the symptoms. I would arrange an office visit to see whats going on.
