i have recently noticed a freckle on my left cheek that is getting darker than the other freckles. i am a red head with fair skin, but i have been using sunblock every time i'm out in the sun, and it is just one freckle. should i be concerned?

Maybe: If you are noticing that a skin lesion has changed, it should be checked by a Dermatologist. Chances are that it's nothing, but an expert should see you.

ankles and calves have brownish freckle like discoloration. on occasion i will also get large o shaped or c shaped spots along with swelling. the red spots are hot to touch and sometimes the skin will become flakey or peel when the spots begin to go away.

You may have: a condition known as "Venous Stasis Dermatitis" Have you had many children??? Do your legs swell???? You need to check this out...first with your PCP (Primary Care Provider)

Ans: You have a few different things going on. The brown spots bay be just aging of the skin. The scanned and itchy and hair loss may be fungal. Depends where on the body. See your doctor for treatment options and go from there

my baso% in blood test result is 1.4. is this okay? and sometimes under my eyes appear red dots (under skin), look like freckles but red (not acne). they disappear after 2 days. i'm quite worried about this too. does high baso lead this ?

: That transient skin finding is less likely related to the mild basophilia. I won't worry much for now but would prefer a repeat CBC with differential in a month for ruling out persistent basophilia. If it persists, then your family doctor will plan the next step. Not uncommonly have I seen this transient change and most of the time the cause can't be found. Good luck.

i tore my acl and meniscus 1-1 1/2 years ago then my legs/ ankles swell up almost every morning and my hairs has got thin, i have red spots on the top of my head, a large rash(looks like sun spots/large freckles) on both of my lower legs from knee to shin

Bllod work: You need to be seen for blood work and evaluation of all medications you are taking including vitamins or subliments.

Be patient.: Generally, time is your best ally; of course you must avoid repeat burning.  In many of my patients over the years, skin care products containing green tea extract have helped to reduce the time needed for the red to fade.

Too general.: There are so many causes of redness or inflammation that we cannot possibly give you an intelligent answer without more information. If the rash is sudden or widespread, you should see a dermatologist and get a definitive diagnosis and treatment.
