Go for another eval: For persistent or reoccuring symptoms, one should be reevaluated  in case there is re-infection, incomplete treatment, or infection with other pathogens.  Most importantly, one should abstain from risky behavior and use barrier protection (condoms).  Your sexual partner also needs to be treated at the same time.

i just found out i have trich, i got it 3 yrs ago, & both me&my partner were treated. could it be this is not a new infection but the dormant old one?

This isn't a simple?: Have you had Trichomonas for three years without knowing? Not likely, but not impossible. Are you heterosexual? It's unlikely a male would have had this witout symptoms either. Did you both take all medication exactly as prescribed? And have you used any sex toys that were not completely sterilized? Have you had a pelvic exam since then, your doctor would have seen this. Reinfection seems probable

Yes: Especially, it may be reintroduced if one or both partners wasn't cured initially.

can a yeast infection develop into something else like vaginosis or trich? i've a yeast infection for a while and want to know what could happen if not treated

Accepted Answer

A : A yeast infection will likely go away on it's own  if left untreated, but may not. It can lead to chronic discharge and itching, and a lot of unnecessary discomfort. The yeast will not develop into a bacterial vaginosis, however you can develop a secondary bacterial infection, meaning both yeast and bacteria are present at the same time. Also, yeast can not develop into trichomoniasis. This is an std (sexually transmitted disease) and requires treatment.
Is there a reason why you are not treating your yeast infection? Are you sure it's yeast? Have you seen your doctor? If not i recommend you make an appointment for a proper exam, diagnosis, and treatment, especially if you are concerned about std's.

No: Fluorinated quinolones like Moxifloxacin do not generally have activity against protozoans like trichomonas.  Metronidazole is usually the therapy of choice.

would monistat 1 (tioconazole) treat trich or bv symptoms. if monistat works on itch and there was no odor/discharge, just itch/soreness was it a yeast infection?

Only yeast: Trichomonas or BV do not respond to miconazole. One shouldn't make a diagnosis by response to medication, but rather by direct evidence, in this case culture, microscopic analysis, or observation.

i got treated for "trich"5days ago i haven't had sex.im still discharging thick white yellowish but it smells like an antibiotic smell.is this normal?

Yes: The antibiotic is saturating the site of the infection and doing its' job to eliminate the Trichomonas.

i was treated for trich august 17 .. took the antibiotics and the symptoms gone. if i decide to have sex with some new can i give them trich?? can trich come back i been celibate ever since?

: The symptoms may be gone, but as a female, you need to be certain by re-visiting the MD for a Trichomonas swab or culture before re-engaging in sexual activity. This is one of those infections that requires both partners (male and female) to be treated for eradication as it is a sexually transmitted infection. At the very least, inform a casual male partner of your infection &amp; Rx need.

Painful urination: These symptoms could relate to 'trauma' or small cuts that might have occurred from sexual activity -if all these tests are coming up negative. Knowing more details about your sexual activity could shed light on that. Sometimes STI's can be tricky though -herpes for example can occur inside the urethra (where you can't see it). Try pouring warm water over vulva while you pee. You should see MD.
