No effect: Cetririzine is not known to decrease or increase a woman's ability to conceive.

Accepted Answer

Fair : Seems to have only mild reduction in count and morphology.   Pregnancy can still be acheived but the likelihood is reduced.  Timing is very important.

why would a woman be able to conceive when she is in her 20's but unable in her 30's?

Accepted Answer

Several possibilitie: Salpingitis (tubal infection) could  have intervened to render this woman infertile. Other possibilities: endometriosis, fibroids, premature ovarian failure. Talk with a reproductive endocrinologist if you have personal concerns.

Accepted Answer

Yes: But it depends on the underlying reason for the cysts. If she has polycystic ovary syndrome, her fertility will certainly be reduced as she is not ovulating regularly.  But just having cysts does not necessarily reduce her fertility.

any treatment or medicines to cure low fertility of woman age-29. we are getting problem in conceiving.(tried 2 times no result). pls advice.

Accepted Answer

Keep trying: Not certain why you have " low fertility" but woman are advised to try for 1 year before they should be concerned that they have an infertility problem.  This means regular intercourse at least every other day from cycle day 10-20 each month in woman with regular menstrual cycles occurring every 24-35 days.  Trying twice is not an adequate attempt at conception, .

how accurate are devices such as the clearblue fertility monitor in determining if a woman is ovulating/able to conceive? are they worth the $150++?

Accepted Answer

Expensive/Confusing: The Clearblue Fertility Monitor watches for the LH surge and also monitors estrogen.  You have to buy the monitor plus monthly test strips and this is expensive.  I don't personally recommend it as I have had women get very confusing results.  I prefer the simple LH surge detection kits.  They are a lot cheaper and I have found the results less confusing. Accepted Answer

Good.: Many women have pcos (polycystic ovary syndrome - better described as hcas or hyperandrogenism chronic anovulation syndrome) and still get pregnant just fine, although the likelihood is decreased in relation to unaffected women. Metformin may be able to increase your fertility rate - talk to your gynecologist or reproductive endocrinologist about it. Take Folic Acid at 1-5 mg daily!

A different question: I guess i hear more 18-year-old women trying to avoid pregnancy! but, if you are truly wanting a pregnancy and judge that it is the best time for all concerned, i would advise that you learn how to track your ovulation times. This will help you 'target' intercourse during  times of peak fertility. Read 'taking charge of your fertility' by tony weschler, and start taking prenatal vitamins now.

1 year: Roughly 85-90% of normal couples (no problems) conceive within 1 year of unprotected sexual relations. This becomes the clinical "definition" of infertility: failure to conceive in one year.  Timing - counting days, natural methods such as BBT/mucus, and home OPK can help you conceive sooner when trying at home.

Not typically: Herpes does not reduce fertility, but can be transmitted to newborn during childbirth if mother has active infection during labor. Infertility is defined as at least 1yr of actively trying to conceive without success. If you have not actively tried for a year, then focus on relaxation. You can purchase ovulation predictor kits to inform ideal time to attempt conception.
