when is a mole called an unusual mole?

Changes: When a mole changes quickly or looks different than expected it is called unusual. Moles are extremely common and most people have them.  Unusual is a broad term and can mean different things to different people!  i always warned my patients that any mole changing should be seen by your pcp.  Any new mole appearing quickly is dangerous until seen by your pcp. Don' take chance on it being malignant.

i have what i've always called a blood mole. its tiny & doesn't cause issues but im curious why it exists. i know it is blood since i pricked it once.?

Genetics: Sounds like you are describing a cheery angioma- which are associated with family history of having these... Are usualjy always benign and develop as we age.   I have a few too!   welcome to the club!   :).

See your doctor: If you have been picking you will want your doctor to inspect it, remove it and send for biopsy if she thinks it is suspicious.  If the mole has changed you need your doctor to check and recommend removal and biopsy.

hello im asking for my child hes 14 years old and got new moles last year l done some research and it said its normal for a teenager to get new moles its called spitz nevus then last month he also got splinter hemorrhages and melanoychia?

: Dermatology examination is recommended. Apply sunblock, wear a hat and avoid peak sun hours if possible. Most likely these are benign lesions, but please follow up. Watch for signs of bleeding, pain and irregular edges of the lesion.

i bought this product online called skinprov,used to remove moles.says to contact a physician before using,it's safe to use right?

Skinprov's lawyers: want you to contact your doctor to spread around any blame if the product doesn't work/causes side effects. Any time you put a topical product on your skin it might might react and become inflamed/injured. Reviews suggest it works, especially if you use emory board to roughen surface, put vaseline on skin around mole, shake up bottle and use sparingly. But, like everything, use at your own risk.

how long for mole biopsy results if bad? my doc said they only call if bad.. when is a avg time to say i'm in the clear? done tues am, now friday

2-3 days: If the tissue was examined locally, the pathologist should have a report in 2-3 days. Just because it is taking longer does not mean anything by itself. Your doc is correct in that had it been bad the pathologist should have called your doctor.

Dysplastic  Abnormal: A dysplastic mole is not cancerous, but shows some changes that are not completely normal. Re-excision may be recommended if the margins are not clear, if they are very close or a larger sample is needed to be certain no additional treatment is needed.

i had 4 suspicious moles removed and biopsied today and one is still bleeding 8 hours later. should i call the doctor back tomorrow? it's still sore.

Get it checked: If this is a mole you have had for a while that has now turned crusty, then it could be concerning.  What you are describing also sounds like a seborrheic keratosis which is usually not a worry.  However, It could be a number of things concerning and non concerning.  I would recommend you get in and have it looked at.
