However, a herniated disc does not always require surgery and is dependent on your symptoms and treatments. Physical therapy, epidural steroids, and/or oral pain medications are often sufficient treatment of symptoms of a hernieated disc.

See Below: I am not sure about the diagnosis you were given. I would consider talking to another anesthesiologist about this problem. The use of an epidural steroid injection should not have had an effect of generalized weakness for one year. There may be another explanation.

Healing may itch: You didn't say why you had the local. If it was to remove a mole or for some other minor surgery, you probably have a small incision that is healing. It is not uncommon for wounds to itch as they heal - especially if you have stitches.

No: The presence of a lower back tattoo will not prevent you from getting an epidural or cause any complications, such as infection. Neither will it interfere with the localization of the epidural needle or the procedure itself, since the localization of the anatomic structures of the back (spinous process and intervertebral space) required its successful performance is done primarily by palpation.

The main side effect of radiofrequency ablation is some discomfort, including swelling &amp; bruising at the treatment site that usually goes away after a few days. Leg numbness may develop due to the local anesthesia given during the procedure. It should only last a few hours. Mild back discomfort can occur as the local anesthetic wears off &amp; typically lasts 2-3 days

No, they are the: same procedure and you are given local anesthesia prior in both. You might be able to receive sedation prior to CSF testing but probably not if pregnant

i had normal delivery  about 15 months back. i took epidural anaesthasia .i have lower back pain, also spot  where epidural  was injected  hurts. why?

May not be related: Did this pain start immediately after delivery and persisted until now?  Occaisinally, I have had patients complain of back pain after epidural but it does not last very long.  I think it is very unusual to have this problem 15 months later as a result of having epidural anesthesia.  In any case, you should go see a doctor to get it checked out.
