Cough: Many causes cough. Some are bodies way of clearing tubes in lungs or throat. Safest is honey mixed equall parts lemon juice. Buckwheat honey best but hard find. Elderberry syrup is safe and health food stores or Sambucol can be found. All are symptomatic but safe. Consult physician for diagnosis.

Chronic bronchitis: Chronic bronchitis, usually the result of smoking, is associated with chornic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dnepnding on your history, spirometry testing and other tests, the degree of COPD can be estimated. First, if you smoke- stop !  since i'm not sure what you are takign, you may want to look into a plumonologist (lung specialist) for more indepth treatment.

Rest, fluids, suppor: Without knowing the cause of the cough, I'll assume it's viral (influenza epidemic in US). Most viral illnesses run their course in 10-14 days (but less than 5 days if you get flu vaccine). In the mean time, notify your doctor, rest, drink plenty of fluids (urine run clear), &amp; keep tissue handy. Cough syrups (with Guafenisin) can help thin mucus, as does chicken soup &amp; humidifier. TTYD. Good luck.

Dextromethorphan: Dry cough can be treated with dextromethorphan - a cough suppressant, and/or an expectorant such as guaifenesin, which will help to loosen a break up a tight dry cough.   Often these two ingredients are combined- such as Robitussin-DM or Mucinex dm.

Eggs are just food: If a person previously was eating eggs (hopefully cooked, for safety) without any reactions to the eggs, then having a cough or being under medication should not create a new problem... if the person is eating a typical, healthy number of cooked eggs. If eating huge numbers of eggs, or eating raw eggs, she can check with her primary doctor.

Cough medication: Medications with Guaifenesin and dextromethorphan will help.  Guaifenesin will help break up mucous and dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant.  Feel better!

Can't tell: most cough medicines OTC have similar ingredients, if one doesn't work, the other might not too, so it is better to see your doctor as you may need other than just cough medicine, best wishes

You need to be seen: As you may need some other meds than OTC  cough syrup, which usually is a combination medication. Not every cough come from your lungs, your sinuses, nose, ears, stomach all can cause cough. So kindly see your doctor for management, good luck

Anti-tussive: Anti-tussive is a fancy term for cough medication. In the States, these are available over-the-counter w/o prescription. I don't know about Cambodia. However, this assumes that your cough is due to a virus. Best to see your family doc for an evaluation to be sure it's nothing more serious. With that said, you don't need antibiotics for viruses.
