Reset metabolism: The HCG diet puts your body into starvation mode and changes metabolic 'set point.'  and then when you resume normal diet, your metabolism has been altered and you gain weight.  Best at this point is to change metabolic set point with increased exercise and normal 1400-1600 kcal diet, depending on your height/weight.  You should see scale start to bend back. Good luck!

Yes: The HCG diet was originally developed by a.T.W. Simeons M.D. During the 1940's -1950's. It has been used all over the world for over 50 years. This method is extremely safe & effective when used under the care of an experienced & trained md.  You can start the HCG and do the overeating phase at the end of your cycle but you should wait until your cycle is over to start the very low calorie diet.

HCGdiet looks unsafe: The HCG diet has a person eating 500 calories a day for more than a month. That's just one big slice of pizza a day. A 4-month old baby eats 500 calories a day. Anybody on 500 calories a day is on a starvation diet and will lose weight. It doesn't sound safe. Extremely low calorie diets don't work because the weight comes back when one starts eating again. Long-term lifestyle changes are needed.

Bad Plan: The HCG diet is a strict one, hard to follow, and short-term -- all very unrealistic goals for long-term weight loss maintenance. Nobody can survive in a healthy way on 500 calories a day (which is what the diet calls for). The idea of taking breaks from the HCG "mobilizing the energy stored in your own body fat" translates into temporary weight loss that comes back. Instead, plan to lose slowly.

Not a safe diet: If it works, it's only because of the severe calorie restriction the diet recommends, which is not safe. You are putting yourself at risk and the weight loss won't be sustainable.

Small amounts ok: In the recovery phase you must weigh yourself daily, and if weight increases than , skip breakfast and lunch, drink plenty of water; eat huge steak with an apple and raw tomato for dinner.

Expensive junk: If you're getting HCG by injection, you're either getting it on the black market (so who knows what you're injecting into your body), or from a doctor who should have his license revoked. Hct doesn't induce weight loss, and who can afford it the rest of their life even if it did? Anyone can lose weight on a 500 calorie/day diet. No wonder you're hungry. Want to live that way forever?

HCG: The pregnancy test is a test for HCG and will be positive because you are taking it. If there is a chance that you might be pregnant or might get pregnant while you are on this diet you need to talk with your doctor.

Increases appetite: I am assuming you are smoking marijuana in the hookah?  While on the HCG diet you should not be taking drugs other than necessary medications for health reasons.

Depends: On how much overweight you are.  On its own it is healthy to lose around 1-2 lbs per week.  I am a big proponent of the HCG diet when done under the supervision of a qualified physician and the original protocol for calories and doses.
