It depends: It depends on why you're having an EEG. You should ask the physician who ordered the EEG or the office where it will be performed regarding how sleep-deprived you should be. The general rule of thumb is that sleeping for less than your routine sleep duration may increase the chances of detecting abnormalities, if they exist. Do not worry: Involuntary muscular contractions while falling asleep are quite common and pose no danger, other than difficulty in falling asleep. Do not worry about it.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

: Review what you drank/smoked that night.  Discuss with Dr. after that. YOur body is talking to you. Listen and take good notes and share with Dr you all can figure it out if YOU listen go your body. Dr cannot feel what you are feeling.

Talk to neurologist : Myoclonus can be upsetting and raise worries.  Your doctor may reassure you or possibly do a video EEG to see if there is seizure activity corresponding to your myoclonus.  Good luck!

It is used to check for seizure activity, to evaluate various headache issues, to check patients with memory loss, evaluated folks with brain infections, and also confirm brain death.

Electrical recording: In the same way an ekg measures electrical activity from the heart, an EEG measures activity from the brain.  Electrodes are placed on the scalp and the patient lies quietly while brainwaves are recorded.  Sometimes, hyperventilation and/or flashing lights are used to evoke different responses.  It is important to relax, as electrical activity from muscle can swamp the signals from the brain.

VAGUELY ACCURATE: An EEG is a recording of brain electrical activity taken over the scalp, over about 45 minutes.  This brief period may completely miss many paroxysmal events and provide a false negative/normal result.  Work with direct electrodes implanted into brain have convincingly demonstrated far more pathology than external recordings.  So, basically "hit or miss" issues, and better to clinically assess.
