Not usually: wedge compressions are usually from trauma on the long axis of the spine like jumping or falling from a height and landing on your feet or buttocks.  Unless they are severe they usually are not dangerous

Many are done as true outpatient surgery. Rehabilitation  2x weekly for 3 months is expected. Unlimited (nonimpact aerobic activity) usually OK by 3 months. Discuss your specific rehabilitation with your surgeon.

Doctor use the number to guided treatment and diagnosis conditions.

what sleeping position do you recommend?

Back to sleep!: We have decades of research showing that back sleeping is the safest position for your baby to sleep.  Remove the wedges, they have not been proven safe and may well be harmful.
