If there is concern that there is a physical cause then appropriate labs will be ordered. Further evaluation by a psychologist or psychiatrist may be needed if there is concern for add/adhd, autism, etc. There are so many causes that it begins with a history and physical.

If  the school won't do it there are educational specialists ( usually pschologists or phd's) who are very capable of testing and directing you for help.

blood is more: Accurate than urine, if the urine is too dilute that can make a false neg and blood will tell u sooner than urine, it is more sensitive.
