: The referral is good advice, as there are conditions with relative increases in monocytes are associated with viral conditions or other causes.

3yrs ago son went to er for belly pain his wbc was 30,000 and it says wbc morphology abnormal his neutrophils were high also. should i still worry?

Accepted Answer

Neutrophilia.: If he had an infection at the time then not necessarily a worry although I'd like a repeat blood test to see that the WBC count normalized after treatment.  Regardless, that WBC count is rather high and deserves investigation - at least another CBC with manual differential to see number and types.  If it remains high, more testing may be necessary.

Need more info!: I assume you mean 15,000. It can be normal, as kids tend to run a little bit higher total WBC count than adults do. But you need so much more information including the different types of WBC's present and their ratios, and then correlation with the clinical picture. Who cares about an isolated number if your child is running around healthy and happy!

I assume that this: is a urinalysis lab report. If it is, you have 8-10 white blood cells in your checked specimen, which indicates a urinary tract infection most likely. Are you having symptoms? Drink lots of fluids and get an antibiotic from your Dr.

Urine: Are there any symptoms associated with this finding? This could be a poorly collected specimen in a female close t her menstrual period.

Not the CBC: Chem profile usualy shows elevated alkaline phosphatase.

: These are normal results. You do not have a urinary tract infection.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that,none of the findings are serious enough, however, depending on other findings and symptoms you may still need a urine culture.

labs came back abnormal. my wbc, testosterone, platelets, globulin and uibc were elevated. my creatinine&vitamind are low. should i be worried?

Somewhat: Vit D deficiency can cause serious problems but is easy to correct with 5-8000 iu of D3/day- avoid D2!
Low creatinine not a problem- just indicates you don't have much muscle mass. High WBC, platelets and globulin may indicate a bacterial infection or autoimmune issues. High testosterone may be related to PCOS. 
Worry just enough to see your doctor soon for further evaluation and treatment!
