Get treated : It sounds like you have moderate asthma that would require inhaled steroids. Don't sit in this. Do see a physician, find out what stage asthma you're in, &amp; get treated right away. Hope that helps.

The inhaler.: If your inhalers controlled your asthma, one should not be surprised that the asthma problem returns after you have stopped using them.  You need to get back on the inhaler and even then it may take weeks for you to get back to where you were before.  Your doctor may well prescribe a short course of Prednisone to get you back on track.  In the future, don't stop your inhalers unless instructed.

Nothing: There is nothing you can do at home when you are having an asthma attack and do not have your albuterol inhaler. You will immediately need to seek medical help.

Get inhaler: You need to avoid allergens in the environments which is at times hard ince wheeze occurs you should use rescue inhaler more important you should use controller drug like  inhaled steroids esp if you r using controller drug more than twice a week.

Sinusitis: Draining sinuses are a frequent cause of cough, worse at night when lying down. You may have an allergic sinusitis and could benefit from several treatments including nasal sprays.

i have not been evaluated, but suffer from frequent burning in my throat and chest. an inhaler helps the wheezing a little but doesn't stop it.

Acid reflux: Your symptoms could be caused by acid reflux.    Certain foods, activities, medications and conditions that increase pressure in your abdomen can trigger reflux.  An over the counter acid reflux medication may help your symptoms, but see your doctor for evaluation if you are not relieved or if your symptoms change or worsen.

Obstruction: Usually fixed obstruction caused by a tumor will not be reversible with Albuterol. The PFTs lab testing pre and post bronchodilator may determine the degree of improvement associated with the Bronchodilator. The primary treatment is to establish a treatment protocol to attempt to decrease the size of the tumor.

Not really: Only way to avoid is to avoid cold air or other allergen (hard to do).Dont try to save your inhaler as unchecked inflammation will make things worse.Use your controller /preventive inhaler regularly which will help you the most.

Yes.: Leukotriene receptor antagonists, like singulair, are asthma controller medications that you swallow. Albuterol, the most common bronchodilator, is available as a liquid and as tablets. Controller Budesonide (pulmicort), and bronchodilators albuterol & xopenex (levalbuterol) may be administered as an aerosol mist by nebulizer. For some these are  easier to use than inhalers. Avoid cigarette smoke.

YES: Inhalers work within minutes to dilate your bronchus and lasts 6-8 hours, they are short acting and the drug of choice.
