Swollen finger: The swelling of the finger along with a vesicle present raises the question of a viral process. An allergic reaction is possible if you had a ring on that finger, although lack of itching would be unusual. You may need to see your physician or a dermatologist if lesions persist.

Skin care routine: It sounds as if you need a good skin care routine to diminsh sebaceous gland activity and acne disease as well as exfoliate. Too much benzoyl peroxide is not good either and may dry out the skin contributing to your "dull" look.

Chicken pox: It's possible that this is chicken pox. Is he itchy? Fever? With varicella, there are 3 kinds of spots- 1) flat red spots, 2) clear blisters that open easily if you brush them, and 3) broken blisters that start to crust over. Usually, there will be all 3 types within the first day or so. Tepid baths with 2 tbsp of baking soda can help. Call the doctor if there is a high fever or other symptoms.

Possibilities...: Before the days of the chicken pox vaccine, most people caught chicken pox, which shows up as little water-filled blisters all over the body. The blisters break easily when rubbed or sractched. Chicken pox still happens, but is less common now. A doctor can look to see what the rash is, because other skin disorders can also cause similar little "water-filled pimples".

Needs exam: Have it evaluated by someone, as pus indicates infection. Without looking at the rash impossible to tell what it might be. Scabies will cause multiple lesions which are itchy, it can get super infected as well.
