Maybe herpes: Sounds like onset of herpes simplex infection.  You'll know in a day or so--lesions will probably hurt more and itch less.  If they stay itchy, possible fungal infection.

For herpes, BHT (available on line or health food store) 2,000 mg per day (taken in divided doses).  Lesions should clear up in a day or two.  Another "home remedy" is to apply DMSO ("horse liniment") from a veterinary supply.

Don't want to guess.: This can't be diagnosed with the information that is available. A history, physical examination &amp; other studies may be needed to determine cause/causes. Once accurately assessed a treatment plan can be developed.

See a doctor: I'd have to see them to know--too bad we don't have an "upload image feature" on this site.  Things that come to mind include herpes, bacterial infections, or allergic reactions.  It sounds like you should see a doctor.

Abscess: Most likely it's a boil or abscess that is caused by a bacterial infection. You may need antibiotics and incision And drainage of the blister. See your doctor

Possible Herpes: If it occurs at the same general spot on the buttocks , Herpes is likely. 
If it occurs at different areas at different times it is likely " Folliculits" , ie inflammation of the hair follicles on the buttocks

Clean and dry: Keep it clean and dry. You may put an antibiotic ointment, like a neosporin ointment, available over the counter.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if have sex.

i have many scabs appearing on my thighs and buttocks. i don't think they were ever blisters but they hurt very bad and don't heal well. what are they?

Unclear: This may well be an infection that is spread by scratching.  This could be made worse as you scratch you can abrade the skin and then these are getting infected.  You need to seek medical care and find out if this is infected and now have a cellulitis.  If infected you will need effective antibiotics to treat this and prevent further infection. Cleansing these areas with antibacterial soap helps

Keep it clean by...: Washing with soap and water 1-2 times/day and applying Bacitracin ointment after washing (small amount; can buy without prescription. Cover with a bandaid or dry gauze. Should be healed in less than two weeks...If not, see your doctor.

HSV 2: Herpes simplex virus type ii or genital herpes is the most likely cause.  Frequent recurrences can be prevented by oral acyclovir, valacyclovir or famvir (famciclovir).  Good luck.
