Allergies are the most common cause of this symptom in his age group. Remove all dust from the room, change the sheets and pillows, vacuum the mattress itself with a beater bar attachment. Your doctor may prescribe allergy medicine or refer you to an allergist.

Nocturnal eye swell: May have chronic sinusitis or nasal congestion and when you sleep because of gravity it flow into the subcutaneous tissue around the eye. Elevate  head of bed, consider antihistamine before bedtime, follow up with ENT

Irritation: . Corneal abrasion or rub during sleep.
Occasionally pink eye will present like this. Allergies usually bilateral.
Baby shampoo and clean lids carefully for any residual debris.
Warm compresses may help.If not quickly resolved, see opthalmologist particularly with your other issues.

Eyelid dermatitis: Eyelid swelling can be caused by allergy, infection, or normal skin changes.  If you do have some inflammation of the lid, it will tend to be worse in the mornings because fluid in your body will pool in your eyelids when you sleep at night.  This gets better after you are up and gravity pulls the fluid away from the lids.

Get checked: Being seen in person is reasonable. Could be a stye, infection or sinus issue. If pregnant it makes it more of an urgency to make sure it does  not interfere with pregnancy. Good luck
