Holter?: Waking up with arm numbness that resolves in a few minutes is a common and normal occurrence. It's due to compression neuropathy from positioning during sleep. Getting up and moving around relieves it. For your heart pounding, ask to wear a 24 hour Holter (heart) monitor to see what your heart is doing when you awaken. Many people have a.m. anxiety which results in fast but normal HR till calm.

Difficulty falling: asleep is often associated w/anxiety while waking up early and not returning to sleep is associated w/depression.  Periodic waking is associated w/overall light sleep.  Please see you doc who may order a sleep study.  A psychologist can help w/stress management. Peace and good health.  Natural treatment includes melatonin supplement but w/professional guidance.  Stop all stimulants after noon.

High BP: Tell us how long have you had high BP and taken medicines to control it. Right now your BP is not under control, so you need to see your doctor ASAP. You will likely need an increase in the dose of yur medicines or addition of a different medicines to control BP.
You also need to be checked for causes of high BP, particularly kidney disease or Hormonal- causes which may require CT scan of abdomen.

See your doctor, to screen for hypertension and signs of heart disease and to discuss referral to a heart rhythm specialist.

Blood pressure: You may be more aware of your heart beat if your blood pressure is high. Alternatively, you could have a heart rhythm problem like bigeminy which may feel like a slower pulse with accented beats. Check with your doctor.

Thats fascinating and a new one to me. Brings to mind possiblity of abnormal adrenaline release seen in an endocrine condition called pheochromocytoma.  Much depends on the actual heart rate and rhythm. Seems that the best woud be to have ECG monitor during event . Also, very important to know about blood pressure in general and especially during the spells.
