Palpitations: Palpitations are the sensation of an irregular heart rhythm. They are often caused by such things as lack of sleep, stress, caffeine, stimulants, alcohol, tobacco, and other medications. Avoiding these may help. See your doctor, to screen for hypertension and signs of heart disease and to discuss referral to a heart rhythm specialist.
