It can happen. Get: Checked. Try nsaid’s, ssri’s, hormone meds, otc meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise ; acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol ; salt. Get gyn eval to r/o underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) with dr ok. Sipping chamomile can dissipate pain. Ginger can help w nausea/ emesis.

Can be: Gastrointestinal disturbances (vomiting, diarrhea) can be common especially in the week leading up to your period, or during your first part of period. Often times due to elevated progesterone levels and prostaglandins. Can talk with your doctor about birth control, this may help. I'm sorry you're going through this. I would discuss with your gynecologist to discuss treatment options

Vomiting not normal: ...but patients have reported it to me both with onset of period or with vigorous physical activity.

Nauseous: Yes you can feel like vomiting. Try drinking ginger tea or degizzed ginger alr.

Many women use birth control pills to regulate periods, decrease flow, and decrease cramping - whether they need birth control or not! you don't have to suffer with this; see your doctor and get some help.
