Cold?: I'm guessing you made a typo. For a cold there's mostly symptom relief. Drink lots of water, rest, avoid spreading it - even back to self by hands near eyes, etc. OTC meds can help - ask druggist if you don't have a favorite. Eat lightly &amp; avoid stress.

Variable: The heart has 2 pumping chambers, divided by a wall called the ventricular septum. A vsd is a ventricular septal defect, which means hole in that wall. The impact of such a hole depends primarily on the size of the hole. The vsd allows blood to go from the left ventricle to the right ventricle and then to the lungs, making excess pulmonary blood flow.  Large defects need surgery, often in infancy.

More info needed: Are you having symptoms or problems you believe to be a result of a vsd that was closed?  A vsd may cause problems due to excess blood flow through the lungs, or due to dilation ("stretch") of left sided heart structures.  Closure of the vsd, if early enough, reverses these problems, but if closed in adolescence or adulthoot, some problems may not disappear.  Many factors contribute.
